Each family is expected to complete 20 hours of service each school year.
Families that choose not to complete the required service hours will be charged $50 per hour not completed.
Parents who volunteer in the classroom for ANY events, including but not limited to, mystery reader, class parties, and field trips, are unable to bring other minor children. Due to insurance restrictions, parents with other children not registered in the class will be turned away from volunteering.
All service hours are logged through the FACTS Family Portal.
Voluntary participation beyond the 20 hours is greatly appreciated.
In accordance with the policy established by the bishops in Florida, any person who works or volunteers in schools or with children must be Live Scanned fingerprinted and complete a criminal background check. The background check must be completed every five years, but may be completed at any parish or school in the Diocese of St. Augustine. Additionally, volunteers must also complete the course Protecting God's Children. Information about the course, including the dates and places it is offered, can be found either through the diocesan website, dosafl.com, or at the website virtus.org.
